Why Are Ants So Persistent?
Wiping up a trail on the counter does not touch the thousands of ants that live out of sight. Most of the colony is:
- Deep in the soil along sidewalks, driveways, or foundations.
- Nesting under slabs, stones, landscape edging, or mulch.
- Hiding inside wall voids, behind baseboards, or under flooring.
If you only spray what you see, the colony simply sends more workers. That is why store-bought products often feel like a temporary fix: the surface looks better for a few days, then the ants return to the same spots.
